It's a Golden Life

Gideon Michael Scott Christmas was so relaxing. Donovan, Malachi and I woke up at 8:30 and opened presents. Donovan got me Pirates of the Caribbean 3! So after openeing presents and eating cinnamon rolls, we watched that...well, Malachi and I watched it, Donovan went back to sleep until 1 pm!! Then we went to see National Treasure 2. Malachi loves watching movies, so he did very well the whole time! We also were able to visit Gideon Michael Scott, Jo and Lorenzo's baby. He looks just like Jo right now. He is adorable. Shannan and Meghan A picture of the cousins together Dominic and Malachi Mike, Shannan, Conner, Dominic and Aubrey Mike and Conner We went to Texas this past Sunday through Wednesday! We had such a great time. It was so relaxing not to have to worry about work! We were able to see Donovan's family. We went Christmas shopping, watched movies, ate awesome homecooked food, and were able to hang out with his family for four days. On our layover on the way home, we were able to see my sister Shannan and her kiddos. She just had her last one on June 4th. He is so big for his age. He is as tall as a 9 month old! Those three kids are just adorable. It was the first time in a year and 4 months we'd seen them! We had such a great time. Since my last post, Malachi has grown so much. He started teething already. There aren't any signs of teeth coming through yet, but he is knawing on his hand or anyone else's anything he can get a hold of. He is also drooling quite more than usual....

We've been slacking the past month with putting up pictures! Malachi grows so much each day. It seems like every time he wakes up he is doing something new. He has such a hammy smile!!

Well, it's been some time since our last post! Malachi has grown so much since then! We put up our Christmas tree a few days after Thanksgiving. We bought ornaments for each of us, including Malachi's first ornament. Malachi had his first little cold after getting his 2 month shots. He's much better now!! Some new things he started doing are; laying on his belly and lifting up his head, rolling from his belly to his back and sitting straight up if he's leaning on your lap. He is getting so big. Donovan is down in Arkansas talking with a company called K-Life. This organization builds youth centers, then employs full time staff to run the center. There is potential for Donovan and Rodney in this, so they took their proposal for a youth center and met with the person responsible for deciding where to build. He said it went very well!!

On the 15th, Malachi flew on a plane for the first time. He did so great. While we were taking off, he just ate like a good little boy. After take off, he fell asleep and slept the entire flight to Maryland! When Grammy Sue and Jon met him, they had to wake him up! He had lots of fun meeting all his family from my side. He did get a little stressed out when we had our Thanksgiving dinner, though. He started talking a lot while we were in Maryland. Of course, he talked to his daddy first-I'm sure that will be his first word! (Dada) He did great on the flight home too! We were all relieved the flights were over though-they rush you through those darn gates like there's no tomorrow! Malachi in one arm, diaper bag on shoulder, purse tucked into pillowcase, pillowcase in other hand-it's pretty difficult to practically undress before the security gate with all this! But we made it through and had a great time. We really miss all our family though!
