It's a Golden Life

Huxley,  Forgive me, but mommy still hasn't bought a book to keep up with you! So, in an attempt not to forget everything about your babyhood-I will try to keep up with everything here! Your brothers and sister have their baby books pretty much filled out... I wanted to remember that last night-you slept 7 straight hours! I laid you down at 8 and you didn't stir until 3! You went back to sleep after eating and didn't get up until 6 to eat. And went back to sleep AGAIN until 8! Good job buddy!

Hux Deluxe is 2 months old! At his check up today, he weighed 12 lb 6 oz & is about 23 inches long. The doc says he is in the 82%tile. He sure is a happy, healthy boy!  What he is up to: -wearing size 1 diaper (2 at night) -3 month and 3-6 month clothes. -sleeping great!  -Likes to be swaddled, but trying to do naps without.  -Loves white noise.  Generally, he is one happy guy. If he is upset-a full belly or a walk in the moby cures it.  What we've been up to this month:  *Enjoyed beautiful weather! It was often in the 70's.  *Went to Daddy's company Christmas overnight hangout. *Celebrated Teeto's 20th birthday.   *Went to see the Ozark Light Festival.  *Enjoyed your first Christmas.  *Celebrated a new year-2016.  *Started hanging out with Coco and Emerson.  *Huxley learned to smile and it melts our hearts! He also makes awesome faces and has really expressive eye brows! 

Huxley, you are one month old as of 12/9. Weighing in at about 10.4 lbs and 22.5 inches. A pretty good sleeper, although we went through a week of disagreements on night time. You're  doing much better!  We have a bit of a morning routine down. You wake up around 6:30-7 and want to be changed and eat. You take your vitamin d and are awake for a bit. Around 8 or so, you start to get sleepy, so you nurse and I swaddle you. You love the white noise sound and it puts you right to sleep. You sleep for an hour or more and we begin the wake, change, eat, play, sleep cycle again. You had your tongue clipped a week after you were born, and it healed perfectly. You still have quite the lip tie, but it doesn't interfere with your eating-you're a champ!  This past month has been busy! We celebrated your birth, your Papa's birthday, your brother Paxton's birthday, and Thanksgiving! November is a busy month for our family!  I never want to forget your cinnamon roll belly button. ...

Paxton turned 4 on Saturday! (November 21) He had a specific list of what he wanted to do.  1.) Pancakes and bacon for breakfast. 2.) paw patrol birthday cake. 3.) Chuck E. Cheese  4.) His friend Brennan to go with him to Chuck E. Cheese. It was a pretty easy list that we were able to do.  Some things about Pax to remember at 4: *weighs 39 lbs *can count to 11 and knows the letter "p". He can also spell his name! Knows his shapes. *loves the color green.  *loves chocolate milk, bubblegum as a treat, and will eat chocolate donuts at any time of the day.  *vey adventurous and daring. Scares us with his acrobat skills. He runs super fast is not afraid of trying new things.  *will pick up spiders. We had to have a serious talk with him about not picking up any spider except a daddy long leg. We had an incident a few months ago where he picked up a black widow, and just recently, a brown recluse. Very scary.  *loves his new baby brother and is very caring a...

I guess I should write about Huxley's birth before I forget! Here's the last picture of me pregnant at 38.5 weeks. This is my face when I realized it was really happening. I went in on Monday, November 9 at 8:00 a.m. for my last weekly visit. I did the usual urine deposit and it revealed I had protein present. My blood pressure was also in the 140's. When the doctor did a cervical exam, I was dilated to 3 and almost completely effaced. I had a stomach virus all weekend and was not sure if I was in labor or if the pain was from the virus. As it turns out, I was sent over to labor and delivery to get the show on the road. Since I was scheduled just a few days later on November 12th for my Csection, the doctor decided we needed to go ahead now rather than me go into hard labor and need to come back in for an emergency.  I got hooked up and ready to go with an iv of fluids and penicillin (since I tested positive for group b strep), they also put in some pepto to help with nause...

Officially one week until we meet our sweet boy. I can't wait! I'm not to the emotional "I'm so done" point, so that's good! I still have energy most days, although I have been more tired because of waking up so much at night or being restless! Sometimes I am exhausted, but cannot sleep once I am comfortable in bed. I'll take the lack of sleep for this little man any day!  Even though I have a scheduled c-section, I am drinking this delicious tea this week to get my body as ready as it can be to have a baby! Maybe he will decide he doesn't want an eviction date and come on his own!  At the doctor, I weighed in at 155. So 30 pounds of gain. This means I have lost 3 pounds the past 2 weeks, but I think it's all water weight! My feet haven't swelled so badly, and I don't feel so bloated. What a relief. My blood pressure was 120/74, which is nice and normal. Platelets are still declining, but shouldn't go down enough for concern by next wee...
