Halynd is 6!



Halynd Zara Grace turned 6 last Friday, (July 10). We had a super fun WEEK celebrating our little girl. Out of our three kids, I feel like her growing up sneaks
by us the most. I turn around and she is a little girl and not a toddler. 
*You are 38.6 lbs (you and Pax weigh exactly the same!) 
*You wear a size 10.5 shoe and 5/6 clothes. 
*You LOVE animals, makeup and anything girly. We often have disagreements on a daily basis about how you cannot wear fancy dresses everyday. You even want to wear them when you play outside. 
*You are a kind of vegetarian without realizing what it's called. You will only eat a good burger if you're in the mood, and chicken sometimes with BBQ sauce. 
*You love Barbies! Which I rather enjoy. It's fun watching you set everything up and change their clothes and accessories. Your imagination is off the charts! 
*You are going into the first grade! I cannot believe this. In less than a month, I will be kissing you goodbye as an official 1st grader. It just doesn't seem possible. *You are sweet, compassionate, and kind-such a good friend. I am so proud of you and love watching you grow! It's just you and I now with another little brother on the way. I know you will be a little mommy and want to take care of him all the time! I love your sweet, spunky personality. 


*You are still hilarious and tell the funniest jokes. Although, you can cop quite the attitude if you're tired (which is exactly how mommy is). 

Happy 6th birthday, doll! I can't believe you have been making our family laugh for 6 whole years. I love loving you and having you as a daughter! Can't wait to see what this next year holds for our family. It will certainly be an adventure!

Mother’s Day has come and gone. We got up again today. We choose daily to pour ourselves out and into our children. As we drink our reheated coffee and wait for the clothes to run through another re-fluff cycle, (because maybe we will fold them this time when they’re done...) our minds drift to thoughts about motherhood- Motherhood is thinking you’ll never sleep again, but you’d do it 4 times over in a heartbeat. Steadfast love

I can see my child glaring at me in my peripheral- A stare with storming eyes and pursed lips. I'm not looking in that direction on purpose because of the tears that are welling in my eyes. Continuing in the busyness of cleaning the bathroom makes it appear that the words being expressed don't sting like a hornet, piercing my heart. Something along the lines of, "You're the meanest mom ever. You don't love me. You don't want me to have anything I want..."  Ironic that these words are expressed as I am literally elbow deep in a toilet. Cleaning urine up is the last thing on my list of what I had planned to do with my Sunday evening. Yet, I do this out of love. As my heart is hurting, my mind began to wonder. Is this how I make Jesus feel? I quickly transform into a duck- growing waxy feathers and let the splenetic banter roll down my back. A whole year with the little ladybug

I know this is a little late, but we've been a little busy :) July 10th, 2009 at 12:36 a.m. 6 lbs, 12 oz. I cannot believe my little girl is already one! It seems like she's still just a baby, and she is my baby! Going through the parenting with Malachi, I didn't realize how much they really change. It seems like in just a few weeks, she exploded into a new person. *She is 18.4 lbs. and 27.5 inches long. *She has a head full of hair now that can be fashioned into rubber banded pigtails (horns). She will NOT keep bows in. She will eat them. *She is walking all the time and everywhere. *She is climbing on the couch, our bed, up stairs and any chair she can reach. *She has 6 teeth, 2 bottom and 4 on top. *She has kicked the bottle except for night time. Even then, sometimes she's so tired she just rolls over and goes to sleep.
