It's a Golden Life

Whenever I think of Satan, I do not think of what he does well. I will not use the word good here because Satan is the furthest from good you can go. He is fantastic at causing human emotions to go haywire. Lately, I've been manipulated without even realizing it. I have felt unimportant & insignificant. While its obvious that I will not be important or significant to very many people on this earth, it's imperative to realize that there is a God who loves every part of me. A God who has died for me and doesn't see my ugliness, who loves me despite my sin. At the end of the day, I am realizing how hard it is to stay above the water. Treading gets difficult and often, I sink below the surface. Although its easier to be under the water and not fight to stay up, eventually-I just need fresh air. Treading is worth the fight for air. I just want to brag a little on my hubby. We are at a point in life where we are insanely busy. I'm talking-busy enough to just live each day without always looking too far ahead. We know we have certain plans on specific days of the week, but mostly just roll with whatever work event, church event, dinner meeting or school work we may have planned for the day. With that said, Donovan still makes it a point to spend quality time with our kiddos. Obviously he needs some down time every so often, but for the most part, when he's home-his heart is here too. He usually puts his little girl to bed (unless the rare occasion she asks for me). He plays with the kids, is loud with them and scares them (a fun game they like to play). He takes them out for donuts and dates. He reads to them and makes up fun stories. He's not afraid to call them out and discipline them. He does all these things that are important-but MOST importantly, he is an example of Christ to them, to me. He ...

We had a day off today out of the blue, so we are making to most of it. The library had an interactive storytelling time today, so that's where we started the day. I'm surprised we made it on time. Trying to get out of the house with three kids is a little difficult! I always like to be prepared with diapers, wipes, bottles, spit up rags, extra clothes...etc. It is the times when I really need something that I don't pack a bag. Figures. The interactive library was very fun! They had a giant storybook that they turned the pages to which involved live characters. Beforehand, they picked out a few older kids to help out with the characters. Malachi and Haly enjoyed how expressive they were, but Chi was sadly disappointed when he didn't get picked from the audience as a helper. Then, we ventured to McDonalds for lunch. Paxton got his hair cut again today. This marks his second haircut in 4 weeks. I'm thinking he will need a monthly trimming until daddy can let his hair go short. He looks just as sweet as ever. He did not mind the back being trimmed, but he did get irritated with the front! On another note- he got his first tooth yesterday. You can barely see the sharp tips of his bottom left tooth. His gums didn't seem swollen and he wasn't extra fussy. He was sleeping more than usual.

Malachi has had two hair cuts in a year. His hair looks awesome long, but he was ready for a change. He got about 3 1/2 inches cut off. The hair dresser said, "I say-a boy should look like a boy and a girl look like a girl". Haha. He looks like such a big boy. Now we can see his beautiful blue eyes.

A couple of weekends ago, we got our family pictures taken for the first time since Paxton was born. He's 6 months old, so it's about time! We've had our pictures taken three times by the same girl and she is awesome! If you live in the NWA area and need pictures taken, Meredith Curtis is the way to go.

Paxton had his 6 month check up yesterday! He was: 17.6 lbs & 26.5 inches. A short, chubby guy. He got 3 shots :( and was pretty cranky in the evening, but handled them pretty well. At 6 months, Paxton is: Sitting, Rolling everywhere, Scoots backwards and turns on his belly in circles, Loves to play with any toy, Enjoys being outside, Has finally taken a bottle, Eats rice cereal for lunch with a fruit or veggie, Eats about 6-8 ounces every 3 hours, Sleeps from 8-7 (usually waking to eat early in the morning), Is wearing size 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9, Is wearing size 3 diaper, He has a very sweet disposition and is such a mild tempered guy. I have a feeling he's going to be a lot like his daddy.
