Wow! Time goes by so fast. It's already been a month since I posted an update! I guess it hasn't been too eventful in the Golden house. Malachi seems to amaze us everyday. He is beginning to repeat pretty much everything we say and use two word statements! His newest accomplishments are "Mama, please!", "Baby's binky", and "Mama, poop/peepee". He astonished me this morning by telling me he had poo poo in his diaper and running to the potty. He climbed up on his stool to the toilet seat and finished going to the bathroom. He was a little afraid of flushing the toilet, but was excited to wave and say bye bye to the poop. It seems like he is growing more and more! His legs are getting so long and his hands are getting so big. He is into being outside. He would love to stay outside all day and night. He loves to give kisses (on the lips) and hugs whenever you ask for them. If a completely random and strange girl asked him for a kiss or hug, no matter the age, he will hand them out! He also likes bellies, so if he walks up to you and lifts your shirt, don't worry, he just wants to make sure you know you have a belly!
Donovan is starting softball! The church decided to get a league together called the, "Metro demon dogs". There is some dispute over the name, but it stands true as it is. I will definately post pictures as soon as their first game, which is tomorrow!
Since it has been springy here, in the 70's and 80's, we've been venturing out into the fun. We went to an old hotel called, "Crescent Hotel". It was built in 1886 and is supposed to be the most haunted place in America. This hotel happened to be in Eureka Springs, AR. It was a beautiful day and we were able to stop and check out the sites. We will definitely go back for a mini weekend vacation to check out the shops!
We also went to the drive through Zoo. Malachi loved it! I don't know if he loved the animals or riding in the front seat, pushing all the buttons. Either way, he was able to see some cool animals he'd never seen before. There was an adorable 2 month old baboon baby, named Blake. He was wearing a newborn sized pamper! The Alpaca tried very hard to sniff for food through our window-I got to pet one's slimy nose. A nosy camel put his whole head in our window...yes, I know we aren't supposed to roll down the windows, but we just had to! Malachi even got to feed a deer a raisin.

Gentry Zoo

To celebrate H-bugs first birthday, we went to the Gentry Zoo on Monday! She loved it. Both her and Malachi are big time animal lovers. I'm not sure where they get that from ;) Haly kept her eye on the Emu's the entire drive. She did not like them. There's this look she gives when she's not sure of a situation, and the birds definitely got that look. We named this guy Ted. Doesn't he look like a Ted? We aren't sure what he is, so we named him. The kids and I flipped out when he decided to stick his entire head in our car before we could roll up the window. He drooled on my skirt. The nerve! This Camel also stuck his entire German Shepherd sized head in our window! The best experience by far was the Zebras. Malachi just puckered up and laid a smooch on this guy. When we told him to do it again he informed us that it was "yucky" and then proceeded to scream "IT'S A WOLF"-or an Alpaca...with his head in Donovan's window with the most hil...

A whole year with the little ladybug

I know this is a little late, but we've been a little busy :) July 10th, 2009 at 12:36 a.m. 6 lbs, 12 oz. I cannot believe my little girl is already one! It seems like she's still just a baby, and she is my baby! Going through the parenting with Malachi, I didn't realize how much they really change. It seems like in just a few weeks, she exploded into a new person. *She is 18.4 lbs. and 27.5 inches long. *She has a head full of hair now that can be fashioned into rubber banded pigtails (horns). She will NOT keep bows in. She will eat them. *She is walking all the time and everywhere. *She is climbing on the couch, our bed, up stairs and any chair she can reach. *She has 6 teeth, 2 bottom and 4 on top. *She has kicked the bottle except for night time. Even then, sometimes she's so tired she just rolls over and goes to sleep. She's having a hard time drinking from a sippy cup because of how fast it comes out-she always spits it everywhere. *She eats ever...

Random thought

I have been thinking a lot recently about my husband. It seems as life gets busier with school, work, kids....life-that my appreciation for him gets put aside. It's tough to think about all the good he really does when I am overwhelmed or stressed out because we are so rushed or so busy. It seems like even though I am home all day, I can't wait to see him and spend time with him, but frequent plans are made otherwise. I act unappreciative and not understanding. I become selfish and am over taken with my own emotions. More recently, as my spiritual life has been growing, I've realized that....it's kind of NOT all about me :) I am not here to be served by my kids, my husband or anyone else for that matter. I am here to serve. I am here to be the best wife and mother possible that God has allowed me to be. My life is so full of blessing. I am so loved and taken care of yet sometimes I lose sight of this and get caught up in the moment. It's not fair to those around me ...
