It's a Golden Life

I guess it hasn't been too eventful in the Golden house. Malachi seems to amaze us everyday. He is beginning to repeat pretty much everything we say and use two word statements! His newest accomplishments are "Mama, please!", "Baby's binky", and "Mama, poop/peepee". He astonished me this morning by telling me he had poo poo in his diaper and running to the potty. He climbed up on his stool to the toilet seat and finished going to the bathroom. He was a little afraid of flushing the toilet, but was excited to wave and say bye bye to the poop. So, this week has gone by sooo fast! This post was supposed to be an update on the addition to the house. Instead, I am posting to say, we've moved! We are only 5 miles away from where we were. Last Saturday, we discovered that the addition to Rodney and Shawna's house was not going to work as we thought. This discovery was made after we took out a bedroom to add a bathroom and kitchen. Since there was no longer going to be another bedroom, we decided it may have been time to START looking. On Sunday, Donovan was at work, reading the newspaper and came across a few houses. He called to check on them. He ended up leaving messages. Monday, one owner called him back and asked if he wanted to check it out. He said, sure, not thinking it would go anywhere else. Donovan really liked the house and the owners, so he took me to see it on my lunch break from Walmart. I really liked the house too, but it seemed too good to be true. God is good. So, we went to the doctor on Tuesday (2/24) for an ultrasound. We found out that we are having a little girl! The pictures below are her profile. The nurse pointed out that her lips were big enough for noticing! That's good for a girl though. Donovan and I think Malachi looked like a peanut, this little baby looks a little different in her sonogram! I can't wait to compare them in person. We almost weren't able to tell the sex because she had her little foot indian style in her lap, blocking all possible definition. At the last minute (second) she moved it and let us know who she was. I think this might suggest her personality! We picked out a name. We are pretty set on Emery, but the middle name has been a little difficult to choose! Well, There are a few things new here! The Metro, (the church we are involved in) is amazing. There are so many ministry opportunities here. We feel like we are finally where God called us to be in NWA. We are also adding onto the house! So far, the handymen of the house have added a bathroom! Complete with working plumbing. It was quite distressing trying to figure out the plumbing, but after three days and 2 floods, the bathroom is almost complete. We have laid the floor and painted 2/4 walls, so the renovation in that area is almost finished! We are also in the middle of putting in a kitchen in Malachi's old room. We have the sink and cabinet piece, we just need to purchase the fridge and stove. We will also be adding one more big room onto the back of the basement so Golden baby 1 and future Golden baby will have a place to call their own! Right now, Malachi is kicking it in the corner of our bedroom in a pack and play. He doesn't have any disputes because whenever he wakes...

So Malachi has developed a funny sense of humor.. He's actually very funny and amusing. He makes us laugh every day!! He even has a new smile that he gives you when he thinks something is extra funny. Its a scrunched nose, toothy grin that makes your heart melt. He also will dance to music, whatever kind it may be, where ever he is! He just loves to dance. He even started putting his arms in the air and twirling, much like a ballerina does! Donovan and I are both doing pretty good! Nothing new to report!
